Writer is saying that a mouth has to read loudly the poems or study in a sweet voice.One has to call ones mother AMMAA ,in an affectionate way for meals.One has to chew paan after meals.If ones mouth does not indulge in all these activities it is as good as a pit dug by a potter for clay.It has no other use. The writers intention is that we have to indulge in good activities like reading,and showing our love and attachment towards our parents and let them know how how much dependent are we on them.We have to indulge in small small acts of happiness and fulfilment like having paan after a good meals.
